Tech-Fueled Differentiated Instruction Engages Elementary School Students
At Forest Lake Elementary in Columbia, South Carolina, technology is the main tool for differentiated instruction. What I liked most about this video was the use of technology in the classroom and how it is used to differentiate instruction. In this classroom, the teacher is a facilitator of each individual students’ learning process. Differentiating instruction for each individual student can be a very difficult task, and this school has begun to master that task through the use of technology. One significant thing that I learned from this video is that is possible to maximize the use of technology and integrate it throughout all subjects. Technology is not just a subject in itself, it is wonderful gateway to learning all subjects for every student at any given level.
Technology is on the rapid rise and is just about everywhere we turn. It is incredibly important that we prepare our students for this world of technology so that they are provided with up and coming ways to learn new things and the ability to communicate as the rest of society is, through technology. In my future classroom, I hope to be able to integrate technology in any way possible. One way in particular, is through the museum of Nature and Science. At their website, they provide real time interviews with scientists where the students can ask questions about the topic at hand through a fun and interesting interactive experience.
